I’m struggling lately trying to find time to get to the gym. Before I had the job I currently have, I was going every day. The main reason I signed up for this gym membership was to attend the different aerobics classes that they offer. I am much more of a class girl than a treadmill/elliptical girl. Well, now that I don’t get off of work until 6 p.m., I can’t make it to any of the classes. There are none that begin after 6. Bummer.
Zach says that I just need to find a time in the day and go at that exact same time every day. Well, it’s not that easy. With my lunch hour being at a different time every day, all the tv shows going on now, my mood, the weather…and just LIFE…there are so many things that get in the way.
Usually, by the time I get off of work I’m ready for dinner. And Zach is too. I want to be able to cook dinner for us each night. So by the time we’re done and my food is digested it’s too late to go to the gym. Once you sit down and have dinner, it’s just all over.
I could wake up extra early in the morning and go before work, you say. I’ve tried that..it lasted, oh, about a week. I like my sleep. I don’t want to wake up any earlier than I have to.
So, now I am debating on whether or not I should look into cancelling my gym membership. Right now at our apartment complex we have a little gym that would definitely suffice. Within the coming months we will eventually move into our new house..there’s no gym there. I guess I am afraid of not having a gym to go to, but it’s proving to be rather expensive, and I’m definitely not getting my money’s worth. I have a bike, but winter is coming, so what do I do then?
My friend Melissa talks about workout DVDs on her blog that she likes to use at home. I have one or two of those lying around somewhere. That seems like a pretty good idea.
